What Parts Make Up a Trailer Spring Suspension?

A typical trailer spring suspension is made up of several key components that work together to support the trailer’s load and provide stability:
-
Front Hanger: The bracket that connects the front of the leaf spring to the trailer frame.
-
Rear Hanger: The bracket that connects the rear of the spring to the frame.
-
Center Hanger (on tandem/triple axles): Provides a mounting point for the equalizer.
-
Equalizer: Balances the load between axles in multi-axle setups.
-
Shackle Links with Bolts: Provide movement and flexibility between the equalizer and leaf springs.
-
U-Bolts & Tie Plate: Secure the axle to the leaf springs.
-
Leaf Springs: Absorb road shock and support the trailer’s weight.
Together, these parts ensure even tire wear, smoother towing, and proper load distribution across the trailer axles.
